Fairview Lake YMCA Camps will hold its annual Pig Roast and Community Harvest Day on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 1 PM to 4:30 PM at 1035 Fairview Lake Road in Stillwater Township (Newton mailing address). Admission is $21 for ages 15 and up, $11 for ages 5 to 14, and free for ages 4 and under.
The centerpiece is a traditional slow roasted barbecue feast, and the camp says non-pork and vegetarian options are available. Organizers describe the day as a chance to open the camp’s doors, bring people together and share good food, in keeping with the YMCA’s community mission.
Beyond the meal, the afternoon is built around outdoor camp activities. The camp lists archery, axe throwing, fishing and wagon rides, along with camp crafts, so families can try some of what campers do during the season. It is a relaxed way to see the lakefront property without a summer camp commitment.
A dedication ceremony at Oak Cabin is scheduled for 1 PM, at the start of the event. Anyone with ties to the camp, including alumni and longtime supporters, may want to plan their arrival around it.
Advance RSVPs are encouraged. Guests can register through the camp’s CampBrain page, which is linked from the Fairview Lake YMCA community events page. Questions can go to the camp office at 973-383-9282 or fairviewlake@metroymcas.org. A local write-up of the event is also available on Life In Sussex.
If you go, we suggest dressing for the weather, since most activities are outdoors, and bringing closed toe shoes for the trails and wagon rides. With tickets priced per person and children under 5 free, this is one of the more affordable family afternoons on the county calendar this fall, and it comes with a meal.
The day is billed as a community event, so you do not need a camper in the family to attend. Plan on about an hour to eat and another hour or two for the activities.
