Shop Sussex County is an independent local media publication covering all 24 municipalities of Sussex County, New Jersey. This page explains who is behind the site, how we report, and how we handle the things that matter most to reader trust: accuracy, corrections, and the clear labeling of paid content.

Ownership and Funding

Shop Sussex County is independently owned and operated in New Jersey, and is the sister publication of Shop Morris County. It is not owned by, funded by, or affiliated with any political party, campaign, government body, chain, or larger media group.

The publication is funded entirely by local advertising and sponsorship from Sussex County businesses and organizations. Advertisers have no input into our editorial coverage and no advance access to our stories.

How We Report

Our coverage is produced by the Shop Sussex County editorial team. Before we publish, we verify the details that readers act on: dates, times, addresses, admission prices, phone numbers, and whether a business is actually open. We source those details from primary sources wherever possible, meaning the venue, the organizer, the municipality, or the business itself, rather than from aggregators or secondhand listings.

When we cover an event, we link to the organizer. When we cover a business, we link to the business. Every article carries a visible publication date, and articles that we later update carry an updated date so you can see how current the information is.

Bylines

Most of our guides, roundups, and event coverage are collaborative and are published under the Shop Sussex County byline rather than an individual name. That byline means the piece was written and reviewed by our editorial team. Editorial responsibility for everything published on this site rests with our editor, who can be reached at the contact details below.

Sponsored and Paid Content
