Sussex County lights up for Halloween this weekend, Friday, October 2, through Sunday, October 4, 2026. We rounded up eight confirmed events, from glowing pumpkins in Augusta to a Franklin night dig and fall farms across Green, Newton, Vernon, Byram, and Stillwater.
Jack-O’-Lantern Experience at Skylands Stadium, Augusta
Skylands Stadium, at 94 Championship Place in Augusta, hosts its Jack-O’-Lantern Experience on select dates through November 1, 2026. Guests walk a roughly 45-minute trail of more than 6,000 illuminated jack-o’-lanterns, with a corn maze, beer garden, s’mores fire pit, and seasonal food from The Barnyard. Standard timed-entry tickets are $20 online; children 36 inches and under are free, and parking is free. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Saturday, October 3, is also the rescheduled Oktoberfest night at the stadium beer garden.
Haunted Wild West City, Byram
Haunted Wild West City runs Friday and Saturday nights from October 2 through October 31, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 50 Lackawanna Drive (Stanhope mailing address; the park sits in Byram Township). One $30 ticket covers a haunted walking trail and haunted train ride. The park rates the show PG-13 for jump scares and loud effects. Last train departs at 9:15 p.m.; last trail at 9:30 p.m.
Lentini Farms Fall Fest and Haunted Hayrides, Newton
Lentini Farms, at 251 High Street (Route 94) in Newton, opens Fall Fest Friday, October 2, through Sunday, October 25, 2026. Weekend hours are Friday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests find a corn maze, pumpkins, hayrides, food trucks, and live music. Haunted hayrides run Friday and Saturday nights from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. through October 24. Buy tickets on the farm site before you go.
Tranquillity Farms Fall Fest, Green Township
Tranquillity Farms, at 47 Decker Pond Road in Green Township, runs Fall Fest weekends through the end of October from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus Fall Fest Friday on October 2. There is no gate admission; guests pay by activity package. Last all-inclusive tickets sell at 4 p.m. on weekends. The farm market stays open daily for pumpkins and fall goods. Phone: 908-979-0303.
Heaven Hill Farm Great Pumpkin Festival, Vernon
Heaven Hill Farm, at 451 State Route 94 in Vernon, keeps its Great Pumpkin Festival open Friday, October 2, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Online admission is $24.99 for ages 3 and up (children 2 and under free) and includes more than 35 outdoor activities, from hayrides and a themed corn maze to pig races and the Dynamo Dog Show on weekends. Franklin Mineral Museum Night Dig, Franklin
The Franklin Mineral Museum, at 32 Evans Street in Franklin, hosts its next Night Dig on Saturday, October 3, 2026, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Regular weekend museum hours are Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with outdoor collecting closing one hour earlier. Daytime museum and rock collecting admission starts at $25 for adults and $20 for children ages 3 to 16. Phone: 973-827-3481.
Halloween Glass Fusion at SCAHC, Newton
Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council hosts a Halloween Glass Fusion Night Lights workshop on Saturday, October 3, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Spring Street Gallery, 133 Spring Street, Newton. Beginners create two kiln-fired glass night lights. Non-member price is $65; SCAHC members and FFDP/veterans pay $55. Call 973-383-0027 to reserve.
Pig Roast and Community Harvest Day, Stillwater
Fairview Lake YMCA Camps hosts its Pig Roast and Community Harvest Day on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 1035 Fairview Lake Road. Slow-roasted BBQ includes non-pork and vegetarian options, plus archery, axe throwing, fishing, and wagon rides. Ages 15 and up are $21; ages 5 to 14 are $11; ages 4 and under are free.
