The Sussex County Division of Senior Services is hosting the 2026 Caregiver Expo on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Farmstead Golf and Country Club, 88 Lawrence Road in Lafayette. The free resource fair connects people who care for elderly or disabled family members and friends with local agencies that help seniors stay independent at home and in their communities.
According to the County of Sussex press release, caregivers often do not know which supports exist until a need pops up. The expo is built to close that gap with short agency overviews and time to ask questions in one place.
What Caregivers Will Find
The Division of Senior Services, part of the Department of Health and Human Services, is sponsoring the afternoon so families can learn about specialized care, self-care, and planning for what comes next. Agencies on hand will cover topics that come up in everyday caregiving, including:
- Home care services
- Transportation
- Nutrition programs
- Medical equipment
- Social services and legal services
- Respite services
- Support groups
Each participating agency will give a short overview of what it offers, so caregivers can see the range of help available across Sussex County. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served during the event.
Who the Expo Is For
County materials describe caregivers as people who help an elderly or disabled family member or friend with tasks such as shopping, getting to the doctor, personal care, housekeeping, nutrition, legal and financial matters, transportation, and coordinating medical care. That help can be a few hours a week or many hours a day. The stated goal of the expo is to support those caregivers so seniors can remain as independent as possible in their homes and communities.
The Sussex County Division of Senior Services lists the Caregiver Expo among its annual special events, alongside Older Americans Day, Senior Day at the NJ State Fair, and other community gatherings for older adults and people with disabilities.
