- Thank a veteran in your town. A handwritten card, a ride to a ceremony or a cup of coffee goes a long way.
- Plan the rest of the month. Our things to do in Sussex County this November guide and our Thanksgiving in Sussex County roundup cover the weeks ahead, and the Christmas events in Sussex County guide picks up from there.
Tip From Our Team
Most of these ceremonies are short, outdoors and start right at 11 a.m., the traditional hour for Veterans Day observances. Arrive 15 minutes early, bring a small flag for the kids and dress for a cold morning in the hills. If you are bringing an older veteran, ask the host town about close parking when you call ahead.
