Adults are listed at $175, ages 12 to 17 at $80, ages 4 to 11 at $40, and kids 3 and under are free.
- Canyon Open Bar Party at Minerals Hotel: a later buffet and dance party from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. that welcomes all ages, with adult pricing at $190.
- Emerald Ballroom at Grand Cascades Lodge: a cocktail hour, three course plated dinner and DJ from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. This one requires an overnight stay at Grand Cascades Lodge and is booked by phone at 888-690-4856.
Two planning notes from the resort: the Biosphere pool closes at 2 p.m. on December 31 to set up for the party, and a resort shuttle runs from 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. on New Year’s Eve, requested through your hotel’s front desk.
Stay the Night at Crystal Springs
The resort’s New Year’s Eve getaway is a two night stay at Minerals Hotel or Grand Cascades Lodge, either December 30 to January 1 or December 31 to January 2. It includes a daily breakfast credit and activities such as Glice skating, axe throwing, wine cellar tours, rock climbing, curling and archery, plus access to the heated pools. The full cost of your New Year’s Eve reservation is charged when you book, and cancellations within one month of arrival carry penalties, so read the terms first. For other overnight options, see our guide to hotels in Sussex County NJ.
New Year’s Day Brunch on January 1
On Friday, January 1, 2027, the Emerald Ballroom at Grand Cascades Lodge hosts a New Year’s Day brunch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with an omelet station, a waffle and pancake bar, bakery items, live music and a cash bar. Krogh’s Restaurant and Brew Pub at 23 White Deer Plaza on Lake Mohawk lists a New Year’s Eve DJ set with Sean Henry on Thursday, December 31, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Regulars know him for acoustic one man band shows in the pub, and this night he trades the guitar for the decks to count down to 2027. Krogh’s takes dinner reservations up to 30 days ahead on OpenTable, while seating in the Krogh Bar is first come, first served. For more places to eat around the lake, see our restaurants in Sparta NJ guide.

It is a good fit for an earlier family dinner of homemade pasta and wood fired pizza. Call 973-579-7711 to ask about specials and reservations.
Family Ideas for the Holiday Week
Not every family wants a late night. A few confirmed ways to fill the days around New Year’s Eve:
- Tiny Tots playtime: the Sussex County Library’s Tiny Tots at the Dorothy Henry Branch in Vernon meets on Thursday, December 31, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for ages 0 to 3 and their grown ups.
- One last light show night: the Skylands Stadium Christmas Light Show in Augusta runs on select nights through Wednesday, December 30, so the night before New Year’s Eve is your final chance.
- Skating and indoor fun: our guides to ice skating in Sussex County and indoor activities in Sussex County NJ are built for school break days.
- Snow days: if the weather cooperates, see our Mountain Creek ski resort guide and snow tubing at Mountain Creek. As of our research, Mountain Creek had not posted a New Year’s Eve event on its calendar, so check its site in December.
Planning the whole holiday stretch? Our things to do in Sussex County this December guide covers the month, and our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner guide covers the week before.
A tip from our team: book your ride home when you book your table. Resort guests can use the Crystal Springs shuttle, and everyone else should line up a designated driver or a car service ahead of time, since rides get scarce right after midnight.
