The Appalachian at Mountain Creek, Vernon

If you want to sleep at the slopes, The Appalachian is Mountain Creek’s own condominium hotel at the base of Vernon Peak. Units are studios and one and two bedroom condos with kitchens, working fireplaces and mountain views, and guests can use a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, underground parking and a fitness center. Alpine Haus Bed and Breakfast Inn at 217 State Route 94 is set in an 1885 Federal style home that was the Mott homestead, one of Vernon’s original farms. The main inn has eight guest rooms, each with a private bath, and the Carriage House adds two suites with gas fireplaces and Jacuzzi tubs, one of them fully ADA equipped. A country breakfast is served each morning, and the covered porch looks out over Vernon Valley and the Pochuck Mountains. The Ampersand Inn, Andover Township

The Ampersand Inn at 140 Goodale Rd (Newton mailing address, Andover Township) is a ten room inn on a 14 acre estate within Kittatinny Valley State Park. Seven rooms are in the Estate House and three are in the Carriage House, and breakfast is a three course meal in a sunny dining room where guests watch the birds. Formerly the Wooden Duck, the inn received a 2026 Customer Service Award from the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce, according to its About page.
