Green Valley Farms in Wantage hosts its Famous BBQ & Harvest Festival on Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11, 2026, starting at noon Saturday and running through 4 p.m. Sunday at 997 Route 23. Our team is flagging this Sussex County farm weekend for BBQ, homemade ice cream, hayrides, a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, kids activities, vendors and live music.
According to the official Green Valley Farms BBQ and Harvest Festival listing, the two-day celebration invites families and friends to spend the day on the farm. The farm market and creamery at the same Route 23 address lists Monday through Saturday hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday hours of noon to 7:30 p.m. For questions, call 973-875-5213 or email greenvalleyfarms.us@gmail.com.
What to Expect at the BBQ & Harvest Festival
Organizers highlight GVF’s Famous BBQ as the centerpiece, with homemade ice cream from the creamery, hayrides, a corn maze and a pumpkin patch. Kids activities, vendors and live music round out the weekend. Green Valley Farms has welcomed the community to farm life in Wantage since 1996, raising all-natural beef and growing fresh produce alongside seasonal events on about 250 acres.
The festival sits on the Wantage farmgrounds at 997 Route 23, a short drive from Sussex Borough, Vernon and northwestern Sussex County. The farm also runs a seasonal roadside stand at 131 McAfee Vernon Road in Vernon Township for produce and farm goods when that stand is open for the season.
How This Weekend Fits Sussex County Fall Plans
October 10 and 11 also bring other county fall programming, but this BBQ weekend is the dedicated Green Valley Farms harvest event. If you are mapping a wider Wantage day, our guide to Boo at the Zoo at Space Farms covers the late-October costume weekend a little farther north on Route 519.
