The best restaurants to try in Ogdensburg, NJ line a short stretch of Main Street in this small Sussex County borough, and our team picked 5 confirmed-open spots for Portuguese dinners, Southern comfort food, country breakfasts and a neighborhood bar. Every place on this list sits within a few minutes of the others and of the Sterling Hill Mining Museum.
We checked each restaurant’s Google Business Profile and its own page where it has one. Ogdensburg is small, so this is a short list by design, and we kept it to places that are open and serving today.
1. Atlantic Manor

Atlantic Manor at 83 Main Street is the borough’s sit-down dinner destination, a Portuguese restaurant and bar with white tablecloth dining rooms. Expect Portuguese seafood, grilled meats and Brazilian-style rodizio, and plan on a full table for weekend dinners. Hours are Monday and Wednesday through Thursday from 11:30 AM to 10 PM, Friday and Saturday from 11:30 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday from noon to 10 PM. It is closed Tuesday. Phone: (973) 823-6378.
2. Jade’s

Jade’s sits on the corner of Main Street and Highland Avenue at 81 Main Street, close to Beaver Lake Mountain Park. The family-owned restaurant is known for Southern and Caribbean-inspired comfort food, with tacos, smashburgers, chicken and waffles, jerk chicken, catfish and grits, shrimp and grits, empanadas, sandwiches and brunch plates, all in generous portions. Jade’s serves daytime hours, Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM, and you can order online for pickup. Phone: (862) 344-6311.
3. Gemma’s Country Kitchen

Gemma’s Country Kitchen at 334 Main Street is a homey breakfast and lunch spot with a rooster-themed dining room, egg platters, omelets and wraps. It is a natural first stop before a mine tour or a morning on the trails. Gemma’s is open Wednesday through Friday from 7 AM to 2 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM to 2 PM, and it is closed Monday and Tuesday. Phone: (973) 352-9030.
4. Stew N’ Dolly’s Place

Stew N’ Dolly’s Place at 46 Main Street is Ogdensburg’s neighborhood bar, with a long wood bar, TVs for the game and pizza coming out of the kitchen. It opens at 3 PM Monday through Thursday and at noon Friday through Sunday, staying open until midnight every night, which makes it the late option in town. Phone: (973) 827-2871.
5. Harry’s Convenience Store
Harry’s Convenience Store at 27 Main Street is the early bird pick, a corner store with a deli counter for grab-and-go food and coffee. It opens at 5 AM on weekdays and stays open until 8 PM, with Saturday hours from 7 AM to 7 PM and Sunday from 7 AM to 5 PM. Grab lunch here before a hike in Beaver Lake Mountain Park or a drive up Route 517. Phone: (973) 209-8681.
Make a Day of It in Ogdensburg
Most visitors come for the Sterling Hill Mining Museum, where guided tours take you into an underground zinc mine, and these restaurants are the easiest way to turn that visit into a full day. Breakfast at Gemma’s or Jade’s before a tour, then dinner at Atlantic Manor, covers the whole day without leaving Main Street.
