The Blue Ridge Rescue Squad Tricky Tray returns to the Sussex County Fairgrounds on Sunday, November 22, 2026, from noon to 5 PM in the Richards Building. The all-volunteer squad, which has served Frankford, Branchville, Sandyston, Montague and Walpack since 1956, uses the fundraiser to support emergency equipment, training and community coverage across more than 124 square miles of northern Sussex County.

Date, Time and Place

Mark Sunday, November 22, 2026, from noon to 5 PM at the Richards Building, Sussex County Fairgrounds, 37 Plains Road, Augusta, NJ 07822. The date and hours are listed on the fairgrounds events calendar, which points to the squad’s Facebook page for ticket updates.

Food Trucks This Year

Blue Ridge Rescue Squad has announced that Homer’s Girls and Smokin’ Mo’s Southern BBQ will be on site for the 2026 tricky tray, so you can eat without leaving the building area. Ticket package prices had not been posted on the squad’s public website when we checked, so watch the Blue Ridge Rescue Squad Facebook page the week of the event for combo packs and sheet pricing. The squad has also said it is still accepting prize donations ahead of the day.

About Blue Ridge Rescue Squad

According to blueridgerescuesquad.org, Blue Ridge is an all-volunteer rescue and first aid squad and the only squad covering the New Jersey State Fair. Donations and supporter shirt sales help fund medical supplies, protective gear, vehicles and training. The squad also offers first aid, CPR and AED classes for residents and businesses that want workplace or family preparedness training.

How a Tricky Tray Works

Guests buy sheets of tickets, walk the prize tables and drop tickets into the bags for the prizes they want most. Winners are drawn toward the end, so plan to stay for the calling of numbers. Bring cash for tickets and food, and a tote or folding cart for prizes. Arrive with enough time to walk the tables before the first pulls begin.

Other November Fairgrounds Fundraisers

Our countywide tricky tray and craft fair guide also covers the Frankford Township PTA Tricky Tray on November 14 in the same Richards Building, plus craft fairs earlier and later in the month. Pairing November 14 and November 22 is an easy way to support two different local groups at one familiar venue.

More Ways to Support Local Rescue

If you cannot make November 22, the squad accepts donations year round through its website and sells supporter shirts that fund equipment and training. For other community fundraisers and holiday events, see our Christmas events in Sussex County calendar.
