What to expect at the fair
The organizers describe a lineup of more than 60 vendors of all types. Local crafters and small business owners will gather at Sparta High School to sell their products and share their talents, and food vendors will be on hand too. Expect a mix of handmade gifts, small business finds and plenty of browsing.
The fair is held inside the school, so weather will not be an issue in early November. That makes it an easy stop for families, friends shopping together and anyone who likes to cross a few names off the holiday list before Thanksgiving.
Meet the Athletes of Determination
This is more than a shopping day. The fair supports Sparta Special Olympics and Special Olympics NJ Morris-Sussex and helps spread the word of inclusion. Visitors can meet the local athletes, whom the organizers call Athletes of Determination, and wish them luck for the 2026 to 2027 season.
Admission has no charge, and the organizers note that donations are always welcome and appreciated. If you want to learn more about the statewide program, Special Olympics New Jersey shares information about its sports, athletes and local programs.
Planning your visit to Sparta High School
Sparta High School sits on W. Mountain Road, a short drive from Route 15 and downtown Sparta. Because the fair runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., you have most of the day to shop, grab something from the food vendors and say hello to the athletes.
November 7 is a busy Saturday for shoppers in Sparta. The Homestead is also hosting a holiday market that day, and you can read our coverage of The Homestead’s Holiday Market in Sparta if you want to plan a full day of local shopping.
